Residents of Chechnya reproach authorities of obtrusive promotion of Kadyrov Fund
The spread of 3000 food packages among poor families on behalf of the Akhmat Kadyrov Fund was not such a large-scale action to tell about it on local TV, residents of Chechnya believe.
"On March 31, the fund named after Hero of Russia, Akhmat-Haji Kadyrov, held a major charity action: 3000 needy residents of the republic received food packages, consisting of some honey, milk, a chicken, bread and cereals," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the Spiritual Administration of Muslims (SAM) of Chechnya.
In the report of the "Grozny" TV Channel, the receivers of the packages thanked the authorities and Aimani Kadyrova, the head of the fund, for their regular care.
The TV shows of charity actions are contrary to Islamic traditions, said Abdurakhman, a local resident. "For a Muslim, the best benevolence is that charity that he gives in secret. A true believer does everything for the sake of Allah, not for a show-off," said the man.
"I see nothing extraordinary in the fact that authorities have spread 3000 food packages among poor people. They allocate millions of dollars to Syria; and give expensive foreign-made cars to athletes," said Israil, a local resident.
A local woman has added that sometimes the Kadyrov Fund renders real help to those in need. "They give livestock to people for Kurban-Bayram; and spread out foodstuffs for Uraza-Bayram" she has noted.
