In Armenia, soldier arrested after shooting dead his colleague

A regular soldier is suspected of shooting dead Senior Lieutenant Mesrop Grigoryan, investigators have reported today.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 11, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) for Armenia informed about a fatal wound got by contract officer Mesrop Grigoryan in one of the military units.

Investigators suspect that Senior Lieutenant Mesrop Grigoryan was killed by his colleague, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has been informed today by an official from the press service for the Investigating Committee of Armenia.

"A regular soldier is suspected of killing a contract officer with a machine gun. The officer died from the wounds he got. A criminal case has been instituted under Part 1 of Article 'Murder'. The soldier is arrested," the press officer noted.
