Attack on law enforcers in Sernovodskaya reminds of suicide bomber's blast in Grozny

The mobile police post was located in the outskirt of the village of Sernovodskaya, local residents report, noting that an attack of one person on law enforcers raises many questions.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported with reference to the January 28 information of the Chechen Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) that at night on January 26, an attack was committed on law enforcers' post. According to the MIA's version, the above post in the outskirt of Sernovodskaya was shelled from submachine guns; two policemen were wounded, and one of the attackers was later found dead in the nearby forest and identified as Mansur Beltoev, a 24-year-old resident of Ingushetia.

The mobile police post was located on the road leading to the Grozny District, local residents told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. "At the post, local policemen and OMON (riot police) fighters were on duty. There is no lively traffic there," said Magomed, a villager.

The solo attack on the police post reminded of the female suicide bomber in Grozny and raises many questions, residents of Sernovodskaya believe.

On November 17, 2018, a suicide bomber blew her up near a checkpoint in Grozny. She was identified by her passports as a 25-year-old Karina Spiridonova.

"This attack seems to me rather strange. It turns out that a man came from Ingushetia, shelled the policemen and was killed. It's simply senseless to attack the post alone," said Khasan, another villager.

"The same strange attack like the one committed a month ago in Grozny, when a female suicide bomber blew her up near the police station," said Aset, a resident of the local municipality.
