Blogger Eldar Iraziev beaten up in Makhachkala

Eldar Iraziev, a popular actor and blogger in Dagestan, was beaten up three days ago in Makhachkala, Shamil Khadulaev, the head of the Dagestani Coordinating Council of NGOs, has stated. According to sources, the reason for the attack on the blogger was in his statements.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the humorist Eldar Iraziev had advocated the closure of nightclubs in Dagestan. His appeal was supported by the UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. Iraziev was also named as one of the opponents of the anime festival, disrupted in Makhachkala last November.

Mr Iraziev was attacked by a crowd of young people in the eyes of Nurmagomedov, who was his close friend, the "Chernovik" writes with reference to its sources.

The information about Iraziev's beating was confirmed the above Shamil Khadulaev.

The beating was initiated by a local semi-criminal leader and several Nurmagomedov's fans; and the reason was in the blogger's careless statements, the Telegram channel, which supports local law enforcers, has reported.
