Officials intervene in the construction of school in Dagestani village

The Russian presidential administration has promised to monitor the construction of a new school, which residents of the Terechnoye village in the Khasavyurt District of Dagestan had been waiting for six years. The works will start in February, the contractor has assured.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Terechnoye villagers had waited for several years for a new school to be built instead of the old one, half a century old. In 2018, they began building the school, but because of violations it was stopped. On September 1, parents did not let the majority of pupils to the school in protest against the need to go to the dilapidated building.

According to Magomed Razakov, a deputy of the rural council of Terechnoye, the meeting with high-ranking officials was a surprise for the villagers.

In Terechnoye, the officials listened to villagers' claims and examined the design and cost estimate documentation.
