Attack on law enforcers in Dagestan was the twelfth within a year

The Russian National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC) has posted a video from the venue of the shootout with militants in Dagestan that occurred on January 11. This armed incident was the second one in the Karabudakhkent District within the year.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the Karabudakhkent District of Dagestan, law enforcers shot dead three men, who attacked the DPS (road-and-patrol service) post.

According to law enforcers, policemen chased the car with the suspects. In response to the demand to surrender, they opened fire and were killed in a shootout.

According to the calculations of the "Caucasian Knot", this armed incident was the first in 2019 and the twelfth within a year attack on law enforcers in Dagestan. The previous incident occurred on December 7, 2018, when during a special operation near the village of Endirei of the Khasavyurt District, an alleged militant was killed and later identified as Marat Alinchiev, who was wanted. According to law enforcers, he was the last member of the Endirei militant grouping, which is now completely liquidated.

The January 11 shootout was the second incident within a year related to the Karabudakhkent District; the first one was a special operation in the village of Talgi held on September 15, 2018, when law enforcers reported liquidation of three militants.

Since December 7, 2018, until January 11, 2019, nine more attacks on law enforcers were recorded in Dagestan.
