NKR blames Azerbaijan for 125 shelling attacks within a week

During the period from December 30, 2018, to January 5, 2019, Azerbaijani soldiers fired 1000 shots at the positions of the Defence Army of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR), the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of the latter has stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 23-29, 2018, the MoD of the NKR, an unrecognized republic, counted 150 shelling attacks on its positions; and in total in 2018, there were about 10,000 such attacks. The Azerbaijani militaries used both small firearms and grenade launchers, says the report of the MoD of the NKR.

According to the NKR's MoD, within a week, the Azerbaijani troops violated the ceasefire regime for 125 times, making 1000 shots from various types of small firearms. In their turn, according to the MoD, the units of the Defence Army of the NKR "observe the armistice agreement," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has reported.

As of 3:00 p.m. Moscow time, the Azerbaijani MoD had not commented on this statement on its website. However, every day, the Azerbaijani party informs about shelling attacks on its positions from the territory of Armenia and the NKR. According to the calculations of the "Caucasian Knot", in the period from December 30, 2018, to January 5, 2019, the Azerbaijani MoD counted 211 such attacks. Only during the past 24 hours, there were 23 shelling attacks, the MoD has stated.
