In Quarter 3 of 2018, 24 people fell victim to armed conflict in Northern Caucasus

In the period from July to September 2018, at least 24 people fell victim to the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus. Of them, 16 were killed, and at least eight others were wounded. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.

The death toll was 16, including 14 people involved, according to the law enforcement bodies, in the activities of the armed underground, and two law enforcers. All eight wounded people were law enforcers.

In the third quarter of 2018, Chechnya was the hottest spot in Northern Caucasus. In the period from July 1 to September 30, in the republic, at least 13 people fell victim to the armed confrontation. Of them, eight were killed and other five were wounded. According to the official information, all eight killed people were involved in the militants' activities. Five law enforcers were wounded.

In the third quarter of 2018, in Dagestan, 11 people fell victim to the armed conflict, including eight killed and other three wounded. The death toll included two law enforcers and six suspected members of the armed underground. All three wounded persons were law enforcers.

In the third quarter of 2018, in Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia, the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, and the Stavropol Territory, no victims to the armed conflict were registered.
