Instagram re-blocks Ramzan Kadyrov's account

Ramzan Kadyrov's account on Instagram is again not available, despite the statement about the "triumph of justice" voiced by the leader of Chechnya. An Instagram spokesperson clarified that the page was unblocked by mistake.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in December 2017, Ramzan Kadyrov lost his accounts on social networks Facebook and Instagram after the US Department of the Treasury included the leader of Chechnya in the sanctions list for human rights violations in Chechnya.

"On Wednesday [October 14], my Instagram page @kadyrov_95 was unblocked on Instagram. There is a triumph of justice. It took almost eleven months. During all that time, millions of my followers were unable to receive information first-hand. Thousands of residents of Chechnya and other regions also could not contact me directly, while earlier, they were able to bypass bureaucratic authorities, raise problems, and promptly get assistance on vital issues," Ramzan Kadyrov noted in his message.

The leader of Chechnya has reminded owners of the social network that "any organization opening a social network enters into commitment to promote the development of connections and free communication between people of different countries and nations."

Djambulat Umarov, Chechen Minister for National Policy, External Relations, Press and Information, has emphasized that re-blocking of the Ramzan Kadyrov's account on Instagram will have no effect on the Chechen leader's communication with residents of the region.
