A protest action against the Forum of LGBT-Christians of Eastern Europe and Central Asia was held in Yerevan. Valery Osipyan, the head of the Armenian Police, said that this forum will not take place in Armenia because of security risks.

The 11th Forum of LGBT-Christians of Eastern Europe and Central Asia was scheduled on November 15-18 in Yerevan; it was organized by the humanitarian public organization "Nor Serund". However, on November 6, an action against the forum was held in Freedom Square, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

Vahagn Chakhalyan, one of the organizers of the protest, has stated that "it is unacceptable that propaganda of perversions be held in the eyes of our mothers and children." "We won't tolerate any threats to our Armenian Apostolic Church, and our traditional Armenian family," Mr Chakhalyan has stated at the rally, adding that the struggle against such forums of the LGBT community will continue.

Later, on November 6, Valery Osipyan, stated at a briefing in the Armenian Parliament that "there will be no LGBT forum in Armenia." "Given some security risks, at the moment, such forum is impossible in Armenia," he told reporters.
