Rally in Baku demands military operation in NKR

The people, who gathered for a rally in Baku, have demanded from the Azerbaijani authorities to launch a forceful "liberation of Karabakh."

The rally in the capital of Azerbaijan was held at the stadium of the Yasamal district sports and health complex under the slogans "Start an antiterrorist operation in Karabakh!" and "Liberate Karabakh!" The public committee named "Karabakh" organized the rally that was sanctioned by the authorities.

Akif Nagi, the head of the Karabakh Liberation Organization and a member of the "Karabakh" Committee, stated at the rally that it was convened with the aim of "raising public activeness in the issue of Karabakh liberation."

"Our territories have been occupied for 26 years; and a million forced migrants can't return to their native places. It's time for decisive actions," Mr Nagi has stated.

The rally ended at about 5:00 p.m. with the announcement of a resolution. It contains a demand addressed to authorities "to start an antiterrorist operation aimed to "liberate Azerbaijani territories," "release political prisoners," "carry out democratic reforms," take "real measures to combat corruption," and strengthen the social protection of veterans and families of perished servicemen.
