NKR accuses Azerbaijan of soldier death

The soldier Agasi Mkrtchyan, whose body was found on the defensive point of one of military units, died as a result of shelling from the Azerbaijani side, the office of the President of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) has stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today the press service of the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of the NKR has announced the death of the above soldier Mkrtchyan in the evening on September 26 under unclear circumstances.

"The 19-year-old serviceman Agasi Mkrtchyan was killed by an enemy's bullet," David Babayan, the head of the press service and the deputy head of the NKR's presidential office, has stated today.

According to his story, by a decree of Bako Saakyan, the NKR's President, the above serviceman has been posthumously awarded the medal "For Military Merits", the "Azatutyun" Radio reports.

As of 4:50 p.m. Moscow time on September 27, the website of the MoD of Azerbaijan posted no comments on this statement. Today morning the MoD has accused the Armenian side of 79 shelling episodes over the past 24 hours.
