Fans complain about lack of places and absence of car parks near fan zones in Southern Russia

The fan zones and the areas allocated for them in Southern of Russia failed to house all those who wanted to watch the Uruguay-Russia match. Fans also told us about traffic jams.

On June 25, despite the weekday, the fan zone in Rostov-on-Don was very crowded, not only by numerous fans of the Russian national team, but also by the fans of the national teams of Croatia and Iceland, who will play at the "Rostov-Arena" Stadium on June 26.

The FIFA World Cup-2018 will last until July 15. Matches take place in three cities of Southern Russia – Sochi, Rostov-on-Don and Volgograd.

Many wanted to drive to the fan zone by taxi, but the roads were blocked, said Alexander, a taxi driver.

The football fans, interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, complained that because of the small capacity of the fan zone, it is difficult to watch matches.

In the vicinity of the "Krasnodar" Park, there were big traffic jams and no space for parking, Victor Bondarenko, a resident of Krasnodar, said. Also, according to his story, after the Russia-Uruguay match, the amphitheatre of the park was covered with rubbish, although there are garbage bins at the entrance.

When fans started to drive out after the live broadcast of the match, traffic jams occurred, Oleg Sazonov, another Krasnodar resident, has added.

The fan zone in Stavropol, designed for 4000 people, was completely packed with fans, the city administration has reported.

The match passed in a friendly and joyful atmosphere, the fans have reported.
