NKR authorities promise protesters to react to their complaints

The protesters who continue participating in the rally in Stepanakert insist on the resignation of the heads of the Prosecutor's Office, the National Security Service (NSS) and the police. The president ordered the government to promptly react to citizens' complaints, Araik Arutyunyan, the State Minister, told addressing the rally.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 1, during a mass brawl in Stepanakert, two local residents were beaten up by law enforcers. The incident caused protests: on June 2, about 500 local residents demanded to arrest all those guilty and fire the heads of all the power structures of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR).

Today, residents of NKR regions have joined the rally in Stepanakert; and the number of protesters has almost doubled.

Closer to the evening, the rally was visited by the above Mr Arutyunyan, the State Minister.

"People want the bosses of power agencies to resign; people want justice in all the villages and towns of Artsakh (NKR); people want to live happily and without fear. Authorities should pay more attention to the population and its problems; and if people turn to them, they should be accepted and listened to; and their problems should be solved in a fair way," David Simonyan, an activist, told the State Minister, who promised to do like that. "There is a president's order to the government to consider all the population's demands and complaints and react fairly and promptly to them," Mr Arutyunyan has assured.
