Unan Pogosyan, Deputy Chief of the Armenian Police, has stated his resignation today without specifying the reasons.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that after Nikol Pashinyan, the leader of the "Elk" parliamentary bloc, became the Prime Minister of Armenia, he initiated the dismissal of the heads of the power agencies. On May 10, Georgy Kutoyan, Director of the National Security Service (NSS), and Vladimir Gasparyan, the Head of the Armenian Police, were dismissed. On the same day, Valery Osipyan and Arthur Vanetsyan, the deputy heads of the Yerevan branches of these agencies, were appointed to head the Police and the NSS. Today, Pashinyan has announced the appointment of David Tonoyan, earlier the head of the Ministry for Emergencies (MfE), to be the Defence Minister. Its former head resigned immediately after the election of the Prime Minister.

The above first deputy head of the police has thanked his compatriots "for strengthening the cooperation and mutual trust."

He has noted that "the change of times and people is needed precisely to correct old omissions and continue people's life and work," the "NEWS.am" reports.
