Azerbaijani villager wounded in shelling

The authorities of the Agjabadi District of Azerbaijan have reported a wounded local resident after the shelling delivered by the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR). However, the NKR's Army has denied its involvement in the shelling and stated that it "strictly follows the cease-fire regime."

Giyameddinli Rakhim Gadjiev, a 27-year-old resident of the village of Yukhary, was wounded this afternoon, when he was in the field.

"The shots were made from the side of the Agdam District (the eastern part of the NKR, – note of the "Caucasian Knot")," the authorities of the Agjabadi District have reported.

The press service of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD) has stated that "against the background of events in Armenia (protests against Serzh Sargsyan's appointment as Prime Minister, – note of the "Caucasian Knot"), the opponents have increased the number of provocations."

Today, the OSCE observers have fixed no violations of the ceasefire regime on the contact line, the NKR's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has reported.
