In Nalchik, about 300 people come to charity concert to help returnees from Syria

The funds raised during a concert in the capital of Kabardino-Balkaria will go to support the needy Syrian Circassians.

On April 11, at the State Concert Hall, a charity event was held to help Syrian repatriates living in Kabardino-Balkaria. It was organized by public organizations "Paryt", "Ochag" and "Nart Khaku". The charity concert was visited by about 300 people, including Syrian repatriates, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

The programme involved creative teams and performers well-known in Kabardino-Balkaria. A box for donations was installed on the stage, to which people put money. The total amount of the raised funds will be announced only today, the organizers report.

When commenting on the event, Zera Bakova, Professor of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University, has emphasized its unifying significance. "It is not even so important how much money will be raised. It is important that people responded and came to the event," Zera Bakova told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
