Sochi activist Valery Tuaev spent four hours at police station

In Sochi, activist Valery Tuaev, detained during a solo picket at the city administration, was set free four hours later. According to him, a policeman did not explain to him the reason for his detention.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 26, activist Valery Tuaev held a solo picket against the unfair, in his opinion, presidential election in Russia. The picketer was detained.

On March 26, Valery Tuaev was released from the police, according to him, four hours after his detention, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

"At first (the policeman) told me that I look like a suspect from a police bulletin. When I began to ask him to specify the police bulletin, then he refused the point. He began to try to charge me under Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation 'Violating the established order of organizing or holding a picket.' When I began to ask him what the violation was, he started telling me that he allegedly had witnesses who said I was accompanied by other picketers," Valery Tuaev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The activist filed a complaint addressed to the police chief. In his complaint, Valery Tuaev wrote he had been detained "for no reasons" during a solo picket. The activist also noted that he treated the incident as persecution of political nature.
