Kuban authorities promise compensations to families of three militaries perished in Syria

Relatives of the three residents of Kuban (Krasnodar Territory), who perished in the military aircraft crash in Syria, will receive one million roubles per family and other help, Governor Veniamin Kondratiev has promised.

The An-26 aircraft crashed on March 6 in Syrian Khmeimim. According to preliminary data of the Russia's Ministry of Defence (MoD), the accident could be caused by a technical malfunction. There were 33 passengers and six crew members onboard. All of them were militaries.

The Governor said that Ensign Yuri Masel from Novorossiysk; senior Lieutenant Alexander Shevchenko from Krymsk; and Captain Sergey Sheinzvit, a native of Yeisk, were among the casualties.

  • Court releases Malgobek law enforcers accused of extortion

    Three policemen from Ingushetia, accused of using violence against a detainee and extortion, have been released. The Supreme Court (SC) of Ingushetia has explained that the period specified by law for the preliminary investigation had expired and their further detention is illegal.
