Natives of Chechnya and Kalmykia arrested in absentia on terrorist charges

Today, the Lefortovo Court of Moscow has ruled to arrest Imran Tsugiev, a native of Kalmykia, and Suleiman Maltsagov, a native of Chechnya.

According to the court's ruling, Tsugiev and Maltsagov, accused of creating a terrorist community, should be placed into custody, Ekaterina Krasnova, the secretary of the court, has explained.

Imran Tsugiev is accused of creating a terrorist organization and participating therein, recruiting militants and illegal arms circulation; Maltsagov is accused of participating in a terrorist community and illegal arms circulation, the "Kavkaz.Realii" has reported today, citing the RIA "Novosti".

No details of the criminal case initiated against Tsugiev and Maltsagov are specified. Imran Tsugiev, a native of the Kalmyk settlement of Iki-Burul, and Suleiman Maltsagov, a native of Grozny, are on the list of persons involved in terrorism placed on the website of the "Rosfinmonitoring" (the Russian Federal Financial Monitoring Service).
