Saakashvili placed under night house arrest in Ukraine
A court in Kiev has obliged Mikhail Saakashvili, a former Georgian President, to stay at home at night and forbade him to leave the Ukrainian capital without the prosecutor's permit.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 8, 2017, after his detention in Kiev, Saakashvili was arrested, but on December 11, the court released him. On December 26, Saakashvili refused to give testimony to Ukrainian law enforcers, and reported the preparation of a lawsuit to the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) demanding a compensation for his detention.
In Ukraine, Mikhail Saakashvili is suspected of an attempt to assist participants of criminal organizations, and to conceal their criminal activities by a group of individuals.
Today, the court has obliged him to stay at home every day from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
"The Ukrainian authorities are trying to disrupt the planned rallies in the regions," Saakashvili said afterwards on air of the "Rustavi-2" Georgian TV channel.
