Accomplice in Nurbagandov's murder sentenced for life

The prosecutor's office has persuaded the court to increase the punishment of Arthur Bekbolatov, convicted for killing Dagestani policemen, from 24 years to life imprisonment.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 3, 2017, the court found Arthur Bekbolatov guilty of killing Dagestani policemen and sentenced him to 24 years in a high-security colony with a subsequent two-year freedom restriction. The prosecutor's office challenged the verdict, finding it too lenient.

On July 10, 2016, two men were shot dead in the village of Sergokala, including a policeman Magomed Nurbagandov. On August 12, 2016, near the city of Izberbash, a car of the road-and-post service (known as DPS) was shelled, and two policemen were killed.

Today, the judicial board for militaries' cases of the Supreme Court of Russia has upheld the arguments of the state prosecution and increased Arthur Bekbolatov's prison term up to life-long one, the press service of the General Prosecutor's Office of Russia has reported.
