Traffic on Georgian Military Road reopened

After the bad weather, which set on in Georgia on January 1, the Georgian Military Road is now open for all types of vehicles.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that exit from Russia via the "Verkhni Lars" border checkpoint was closed on January 1.

According to the Ministry for Emergencies (MfE) of North Ossetia, the traffic on the Georgian Military Road was resumed on January 4 for all types of vehicles.

"However, at the same time, the weather conditions in the territory of Georgia may deteriorate in the next few days, which may entail a traffic suspension on this highway," says the statement posted on the website of the MfE of North Ossetia.
