Over a hundred wait for the opening of the Georgian Military Road

A line of 94 vehicles with 102 people is at the Georgian Military Road, which was closed due to bad weather in Georgia, the Ministry for Emergencies (MfE) has reported today.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the Road is closed for heavy trucks since December 30 because of bad weather.

As of 7:00 a.m. Moscow time, the queue at the "Verkhni Lars" checkpoint comprised 94 vehicles, including 60 heavy trucks. 102 people are in the vehicles, the North-Ossetian MfE reports.

The MfE informs on its website that the checkpoint provides facilities for people to warm up.

"We are waiting in a line; it's snowing; in Gudauri, it looks like stop snowing soon. There is a hope that the pass will be opened after 10 a.m. The queue is increasing," Platon Makovsky, a user of the social network "VKontakte", wrote this morning in the in public "Situation at the 'Verkhni Lars' checkpoint".
