Schools and kindergartens closed in mountains of Adjaria

Today, a heavy snowfall has interrupted classes in 43 schools of the Khulo District, 28 schools of the Shuakhevi District and in one school of the Keda District. This was reported by Khulo Mayor Gocha Meladze. According to the district administration, 20 kindergartens have also been closed.

According to the Mayor, several villages are cut off from the electricity supply.

On the hills, the height of the snow cover reaches 1.5 meters, and in the village one meter, the "InterPressNews" reports with reference to the Khulo Mayor.

"Now we have a heavy snowfall. If the weather does not improve, it may not be possible to restore the educational process. However, weather forecasters promise that starting from tomorrow, the weather will begin to improve," reported an official from the Khulo District administration as quoted by the "Sputnik-Georgia".

According to him, the bad weather interrupted the educational process in all twenty kindergartens of the Khulo District. According to the preliminary information, it is expected that the schools and kindergartens will be opened on Monday, December 11.
