Former cadet of MIA Academy placed in dungeon

On December 7, members of the Public Oversight Commission (POC) of the Krasnodar Territory visited at the SIZO (pre-trial prison) Anzor Magomadov, a former cadet of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), accused of preparing a terror act and trying to join militants in Syria.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Anzor Magomadov, a former cadet of the MIA's Academy, a 27-year-old resident of Sochi, was detained in August 2016. According to his relatives, during the detention of Anzor Magomadov, law enforcers planted weapons and ammunition on him.

According to POC story, Magomadov is now placed in the punishment cell (dungeon). This was preceded by his conflict with a SIZO warder, whom he turned to with complaints about toothache.

"When Anzor was told that he could be treated only for money, he flared up and quarrelled with the warder, after which he was placed in the dungeon until December 12," Anzaur Akhidjak, a deputy chairman of the POC, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, adding: "The tooth was anesthetized... Anzor got into the dungeon, because in a rude form he demanded from the SIZO ward to provide him with dental treatment."

Anzor's mother is sure that the refusal to fully treat her son's teeth is a way of exerting pressure on him.

"I know my son; he will never complain in vain and ask... He really had a toothache; and he was denied medical help because he had no money to pay for it. My son asked for medical help and did not receive it. After the demand to pay for medical services, he was placed into the dungeon," Malika Gendurgunoeva, Anzor's mother, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
