Activist Gudimov released in Sochi

Konstantin Gudimov, an activist of the Sochi office of Alexei Navalny, was released today from the temporary detention centre (known as IVS) and stopped his hunger strike.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 24, a Sochi court sentenced Konstantin Gudimov to 12 days of arrest, treating his bike tour with air balloons with Navalny's symbols as an unauthorized public action. On the same day, Gudimov went on a hunger strike in protest against the court's judgement.

Konstantin Gudimov was released from the IVS today at 4:10 a.m. Moscow time. He was met by a small group of five Navalny's supporters.

He explained that during his hunger strike he had no need to call an ambulance; and would start quitting his hunger strike today. He also noted that the authorities gave no reaction to his protest hunger strike, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
