Organizer of "Georgians' March" detained in Tbilisi at rally against LGBT

The today's action of supporters of the "Georgians' March", who demanded to exclude the footballer, who had supported the LGBT community, from the national team, ended in a clash with policemen.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that for the first time the "Georgians' March" was held in Tbilisi on July 14; the participants thereof demanded from the authorities to expel illegal migrants from the country and ban the opposition "United National Movement" (UNM) Party.

Today, activists of the "Georgians' March" held an action near the Georgian Football Federation in Tbilisi. When they used pyrotechnics, their clashes began with the police. Some of the activists were detained, including Lado Sadgobelashvili, one of the organizers.

According to activists, policemen used force without due grounds, the "InterPressNews" reports.

The reason for activists' discontent was the bandage of rainbow colours, with which Guram Kashiya, a vice-captain of the Georgian national football team and a player of the "Vitess" FC, appeared on the pitch. He took part in the action of FC captains in support of LGBT people, announced by Denis Hespy, the head of the Association of Professional Footballers of Holland.
