Volgograd picketers demand to admit Navalny to election (+video)

In Volgograd, a picket of Alexei Navalny’s supporters passed with a minimum number of policemen, but under the supervision of young participants’ parents.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 7, actions in support of Alexei Navalny were held in many Russian cities.

In Volgograd, the picketers held red balloons with the inscription "Navalny-2018", stickers and posters with the same words and Russian flags. Posters read: "Putin, resign by yourself!", "I support Alexei Navalny!" and others. Both young and middle-aged and elderly people came to Lenin Square, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

"I’ve come to the picket, because it is very important for me to demonstrate my civil position," Alexander Kogut, one of the organizers of the action, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. “I believe that in our country the regime is not quite totalitarian. It can be said that it is made of plywood. This plywood house can only be blown away by public and political pressure. We have no need to smash anything and organize revolutions. We just need to show that there are a lot of people; they are ready to go out into the streets and peacefully defend their rights."

Nina Shtukaturova, a picketer, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that she came to the picket "to achieve Alexei Navalny’s participation in the presidential election." "We believe that he is worthy of being president; and we’ll defend this point of view," she said.
