Source reports cause of Doku Umarov's death

Doku Umarov, the leader of the banned terrorist organization "Imarat Kavkaz"*, died of poisoning with a highly toxic substance. This was reported by a source familiar with the results for the forensic examination of the human body remains found in Ingushetia.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 25, sources from the law enforcement agencies reported the discovery in Ingushetia of the remains of Doku Umarov, the leader of the terrorist organization "Imarat Kavkaz", banned in Russia. It is only today when the FSB has officially confirmed the discovery of the Doku Umarov's body remains.

The forensic examination has confirmed the remains of the human body found in Ingushetia belonged to Doku Umarov. Besides, experts have also found out the cause of his death as poisoning with a virulent poison, a source reported.

According to the source, the poisoning of Doku Umarov in 2013 was the result of a special operation carried out by law enforcers. The Doku Umarov's remains were transported from Ingushetia to Moscow "with special precautions because of their high toxicity," the "Interfax" quoted an informed source as reporting.

Till present, the law enforcement agencies have not disclosed any official information concerning the results for the examination of the Doku Umarov's remains. The FSB also has not yet disclosed any details of the special operation, as a result of which Doku Umarov was killed.

*The organization is recognized as a terrorist and banned in Russia by a court's decision.
