In Baku, court releases Mekhman Aliev from custody (+video)

Today, the court has changed the pre-trial restriction measure to Mekhman Aliev, the director of the Turan news agency, to the police supervision.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 24, Mekhman Aliev, the director of the Azerbaijani Turan news agency, was detained and accused of illegal entrepreneurship and tax evasion. The court arrested Mekhman Aliev for three months. Mekhman Aliev himself rejects accusations.

Today, the Yasamal District Court of Baku has changed the pre-trial measure to Mekhman Aliev at a request from the investigative body. The court sent Mekhman Aliev under the police supervision, advocate Fuad Agaev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The advocate has also said that Mekhman Aliev is already at large and is on his way home.

Meanwhile, the advocate has refused to make detailed comments and said that the defence continues to reject the charges.
