Russian philanthropist hands 20 cars over to Nagorno-Karabakh

On September 5, in Stepanakert, district administrations, law enforcement agencies, medical institutions, local diocese, and university received five minivans and 15 off-roaders from Arthur Varzhapetyan, a Russian businessman of Armenian origin.

The ceremony to hand over keys from UAZ minivans and Chevrolet NIVA cars took place in Renaissance Square in Stepanakert.

For the tenth year, on September 2, Arthur Varzhapetyan "grants cars for the needs of Artsakh" on the occasion of the Nagorno-Karabakh's Independence Day. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Artak Beglaryan, the press secretary to the Prime Minister of Nagorno-Karabakh.

"I try to be helpful for the people and to contribute to the socio-economic development of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh, note of the 'Caucasian Knot')," explained the philanthropist, the president of the "Luding" Company.

Lusine Sargsyan, the chief physician of the city hospital in Kovsakan of the Kashatag District, has noted that the granted car is of need for the medical institution led by her.

Grant Bakhshiyan and Karlen Asatryan, the leaders of the villages of Varunkatag and Nor Gazanchi in the Martakert District, respectively, have also stated that own vehicles will greatly facilitates work and everyday activities in their rural communities.
