Taganrog residents suspected of selling a person for use of his human organs

Two residents of Taganrog were detained while they tried to sell for 1.5 million roubles a 26-year-old man for the use of his human organs. This was reported by the Prosecutor's Office for the Rostov Region.

"According to investigators, on August 29, 2017, while staying in a hotel room of one of the hotels in Taganrog, the suspects sold for 1.5 million roubles a 26-year-old citizen of the Russian Federation for further exploitation of his body for personal purposes, seizure of his human organs and tissues," reported the Prosecutor's Office for the Rostov Region.

After receiving the money, the suspects were detained by law enforcers, reports the website for the Prosecutor's Office.

A criminal case has been instituted against the suspects. This was reported by Elizaveta Komakhidze, the spokesperson for the Prosecutor's Office for the Rostov Region.

An informed source has reported that the man, whom the suspects tried to sell, was not aware of the situation. "He was told that he would drive a car to another country, and for that purpose, he would have to undergo a full medical examination. And he agreed," reported the source as quoted by the "Interfax".

According to the source, "law enforcers learned about the sellers' plans and acted as forged buyers."
