About 20 foreign journalists arrive in Chechnya

About 20 media representatives from China, Japan, Georgia, Tajikistan, France, and other countries are planning to visit iconic sites in Chechnya and meet Ramzan Kadyrov. According to the guests, they want to destroy stereotypes about Chechnya. Earlier, journalists were invited to come to the republic in connection with the theme of the persecution of gays, but then only several journalists dared to arrive in Chechnya.

In June, a crew of the US "Vice News" TV Channel visited Chechnya. The journalists released a report on the persecution of gay men, in which several men talk about threats and beatings because of their sexual orientation.

US journalist David Scott also came to Chechnya in connection with the resonance around children's battles in Grozny. He called Chechnya "the most frightening place," where he had to visit. According to the US journalist, there is no place for dissent in such a society.

"We invited you to get acquainted with the life of the Chechen people so that you can see the stable situation in our region. Destroy for yourself a myth that human rights are violated in Chechnya. There are no Middle Ages here imagined by the West ... Chechnya is one of the most hospitable regions in our country. You can see it in your own eyes," the guests were told by Djambulat Umarov, the Chechen Minister for National Policy, Foreign Relations, Press and Information.

Ibroim Akhmedov, a correspondent of the IA "Khovar" from Tajikistan, has noted that he came to Grozny to get acquainted with the sightseeing attractions of the city.
