Shushi sculpture museum granted 10 pieces by participants of international symposium

Ten sculptors from Poland, Serbia, Egypt, India, Armenia, and Nagorno-Karabakh have granted to the city of Shushi their sculptures created within the fifth international symposium named after Akop Gyurdjyan in Nagorno-Karabakh, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Nagorno-Karabakh hosts international symposia of sculptors in since 2011. On July 1, the fifth international symposium of sculptors was opened in Shushi.

On July 20, the symposium was officially closed. During 20 days, its participants worked on the territory of the State Picture Gallery, which founded an open-air museum of all sculptures of the previous symposia. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by the press service of the Nagorno-Karabakh Ministry of Culture.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has been informed by Lusine Gasparyan, the director of the State Picture Gallery, that after the fifth symposium, the number of sculptures in the Shushi museum exceeded 60.

"Some sculptures, like some of the earlier symposia, will be installed in different parts of the cities of Shushi and Stepanakert. The rest of the sculptures are exhibited in the museum and are open to visitors," noted the museum director.
