One of rarest Buddhist stupas found in Kalmykia

In the Tselinny District of Kalmykia, a rare Buddhist monument has been opened. It is the Kalachakra Stupa. In total, there are about ten such stupas in the world.

The opening ceremony and the ritual of the consecration of the Kalachakra Stupa took place at Lonely Poplar near the village of Khar-Buluk in the Tselinny District of Kalmykia.

The Kalachakra Stupa belongs to one of the rarest types of Buddhist architectural structures. In total, there are about 10 such stupas in the world, the RIA "Kalmykia" reports on July 17.

The Kalachakra Stupa is a symbol for removal of obstacles on the way to well-being. It is believed that it helps overcome obstacles, solves problems, and eliminates all negative energies.

The first Kalachakra Stupa was built by King Ashoka in India in the 3rd century BC.
