MIA announces absence of claims against Murad Amriev

After a re-check of the information that Murad Amriev is included in the federal wanted list, it has turned out that the athlete was removed from the wanted list. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for the Stavropol Territory.

On June 8, it became known that Murad Amriev was detained in Belarus, since he was wanted on suspicion of using a fraudulent document. On June 9, Murad Amriev was brought to Grozny. On June 14, Murad Amriev filed a motion for closure of the criminal case against him in connection with the expiration of the statute of limitations. On June 15, it became known that the case against Murad Amriev had been closed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the evening of July 3, athlete Murad Amriev had to hide from the police in Pyatigorsk, since he was still in the federal wanted list base, the "Committee for the Prevention of Torture" reported. Human rights defender Igor Kalyapin appealed to the Minister of Internal Affairs with a request to immediately exclude the Murad Amriev's name from the federal wanted list base.

According to the police, on July 3, the on duty unit of the MIA's Division for Pyatigorsk got a message reporting about suspicious citizens in one of the apartments. A district police inspector was sent to the place, the press service of the MIA's Chief Department for the StavropolTerritory reports.

"There were two men in the apartment. After the police inspector had checked the personal data of the citizens it turned out that one of them was on the federal wanted list. The information was re-checked, and then it became clear that the citizen's name was removed from the federal wanted list," reports the MIA's press release received today by the "Caucasian Knot".
