Three Georgian citizens released in South Ossetia

After collecting fines, the South-Ossetian authorities handed the three persons detained for violating the border, to Georgia, the South-Ossetian State Security Committee (SSC) reports.

According to the SSC, Zuriko Beridze, 40, Amiran Shukakidze, 25, and Giorgi Mosiashvili, 29, were detained on June 25 in the vicinity of the village of Sinagur, Dzau District. All of them are residents of the village of Perevi, Sachkher District of Georgia.

Before June 8, South Ossetia strengthened its control over some border sectors with Georgia, the "Sputnik South Ossetia" reports.

The village of Perevi is the only dwelling settlement left by Russian militaries, who occupied it in 2008.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" reported that on June 7, the South-Ossetian party handed four Georgian citizens detained at the border over to Georgia.
