Residents of Novogrozny doubt safety of new houses

30 families in need have moved into houses built in the village of Novogrozny during 11 days. This was reported by the administration of the Gudermes District. Local residents fear that the construction of houses in a short time could involve violation of technology.

In May, reconstruction of the village of Novogrozny (Oiskhar) began under the instruction of Ramzan Kadyrov. In particular, houses of 120 square meters are under construction for 30 families in urgent need.

The construction took place against the backdrop of raids carried out by law enforcers, who, according to local residents, were searching for an author of a video about demolition of houses in the village and detained more than 10 people.

According to an official from the administration, the houses were built so quickly, since the works were carried out around the clock.

The local residents shared with the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent their doubts about the quality of constructed houses.

"You cannot construct houses during 10 days and build walls on damp foundations. It's a gross violation. It's terrible to imagine what will happen to such houses, if suddenly even a small earthquake occurs," said a man who introduced himself as Salavdi.

According to builder Aindi, the minimum time period for construction of a house is three months. He believes that the construction of capital apartment buildings during 11 days is "a gross violation of the elementary rules of construction."
