70 performers take part in bard's song contest in Rostov-on-Don

On June 2-4, Rostov-on-Don hosted the festival of the bard's song club "Sozvezdie", which attracted song performers from the Krasnodar Territory and the Volgograd and Voronezh Regions. In total, the festival was visited by about 200 people.

Svetlana Anischik, one of the organizers of the festival, informed the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that 70 singers performed in the contest programmes of the event.

According to Svetlana Anischik, people who write poems and songs want to show their works, but now it is of interest only for a little number of people.

"Our bard's song festival is held for the third time already. Such festivals unite people, who are close in spirit, allow us to exchange our creativity, and attract new people. Our festival was held only at our own expense, with bare enthusiasm," Svetlana Anischik noted.

According to bard Alexander Marinov from the town of Kamensk-Shakhtinsky, at present, such festivals are "the only institute of author's creativity in Russia."

Grigory Primachenko, a poet from the Rostov Region, believes that author's and bard's songs are not popular now, although they are "much more necessary than songs of all light genres" and are intended for "thinking people who appreciate high-quality poetry and not empty texts."
