Residents of Southern Russia complain about mobile telephony problems

On May 19, clients of the "MegaFon" mobile operator in the Southern and North-Caucasian Federal Districts (SFD and NCFD) reported about interruptions with mobile communication and Internet. Problems were not massive, the mobile operator stated.

Maria Tegaeva, a resident of North Ossetia, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that her problems with the "MegaFon" network started in the morning on May 19. "I just failed to call any one, or receive someone’s calls," said the young woman, adding that the problems disappeared on the same day after 7 p.m.

Residents of Dagestan also told about similar problems.

In her turn, Milena Alieva, a resident of Makhachkala, said that she noticed no problems with the telephone network.

Abkhazian “MegaFon” users said they had no major problems with the Russian operator.

Mass telephony problems in the second half of May 19 were reported by “MegaFon” clients in Kalmykia. They were confirmed by the press service of the mobile operator, the RIA "Kalmykia" reports.

The “RostovGazeta” reports with reference to Olga Igoshkina, PR Director of the Caucasian Branch of the Public Joint-Stock Company (PJSC) "MegaFon", that company’s clients in Central Russia, but in the SFD and NCFD the operation was normal.
