Schoolboy killed by grenade explosion in Dagestan

A teenager was killed and 11 more were wounded by a grenade explosion in the computer class in the village of Agvali, Tsumadin District, said a source from the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Dagestan, adding that it is a school computer class.

"One person was killed and 11 others were wounded and hospitalized," the TASS quotes the source as saying.

Shamil Abakarov, the school director, suggests that the grenade was brought by an eighth-form pupil. "As a result, an explosion occurred in the computer class," the RIA “Novosti” quotes Abakarov as saying, adding that three wounded pupils are in intensive care in grave condition, as reported by an employee of the reception ward of the Tsumadin District Hospital.

The "Chernovik" weekly adds that the computer class, in which the explosion occurred, is located outside the school building.

The MIA source has reported on the detention of one of the pupils, who had allegedly brought the grenade into the class.
