Persecution of publicist Ibragimov in Chechnya has added him fame

The criminal case against publicist Rizvan Ibragimov, the author of books about the God's favoured Chechen people, accused of extremism, has added popularity to him, but showed other authors in Chechnya the limits of what is permitted. This is the opinion of the writer Arslan Khasavov. It is easier to learn about the publicist Ibragimov not from his works, but from the exposing reports, said Makka Albogachieva, a senior researcher of the Division on Caucasus of the Kunstkamera (Cabinet of Curiosities).

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in July 2016 a court in Chechnya upheld the opinion of the Prosecutor's Office that Ibragimov’s books contain extremism. The court decided to send him to a forced psychiatric examination in Makhachkala.

Arslan Khasavov, a writer and a journalist, believes that the case against Ibrahimov has added him fame as a writer. At the same time, he noted that many authors are now publishing books in Russia, in which they interpret historical facts in their own way.

In the opinion of Ms Albogachieva, the evaluation of Ibragimov's works has been unlikely carried out by historians, since his works are little known and interesting to anybody.

According to her story, Ibragimov's creativity is devoid of any scientific approach.
