Bocharov meets protesting entrepreneurs, but gives no promise

The today's meeting of Andrei Bocharov, the Governor of the Volgograd Region, with small and medium businessmen ended immediately as the Governor completed his more than two-hour-long speech. The protesting entrepreneurs tried to attract his attention, but they were not allowed to ask questions.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Volgograd entrepreneurs are protesting against a new scheme for placing non-stationary trade objects (NSTOs) – kiosks and pavilions. The new scheme has excluded over 3000 such objects, located in the areas, where the World Football Cup events will take place. Owners of NSTOs should demolish their objects at their own expense.

Mr Bocharov has stated that regional SMEs should be supported; however, he upheld the mass demolition of kiosks, treating it as "the work to decriminalize the sphere of entrepreneurship."

Participants of the meeting were unhappy with the way the event was organized.

Thus, Vera Kucheryavaya, the coordinator of the initiative group of protesting entrepreneurs, could not ask her questions.

According to her story, small businesses in Volgograd are in conditions, where they have no certainty of the future; and, therefore, it makes no sense to invest in the development of their activities.
