Punishment to Aram Manukyan, "Sasna Tsrer" member, tightened

Investigators have added to Aram Manukyan, accused in the case of capturing the building of the police patrol-and-post service (PPS) regiment in Yerevan, a charge under another article of the Armenian Criminal Code.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 27, 2016, Aram Manukyan and his father Pavel Manukyan were wounded in a shootout of policemen and rebels, who held captured the above building from July 17 to July 31. On August 29, Aram Manukyan was operated on; and on September 5, he was returned to the prison hospital. On September 15, the court rejected the defence's motion to release Manukyan on bail. On September 24, the court extended the term of his arrest.

Investigators have added to Aram Manukyan, already convicted for taking a hostage and illegal purchase, sale, storage, transportation or carrying weapons, the article about enforcement to participate in a strike or to refuse to participate in a strike, said his advocate Inessa Petrosyan.
