Parents in Adygea raise funds for Centre for training specialists to work with children with autism

On April 2, Adygea will hold the charitable action "To Another World Today". With the help of it, parents of children with autism hope to raise funds to open a training centre for tutors and teachers. At present, there are 57 children diagnosed with autism in the republic; however, there are not enough specialists to work with them, and the proper conditions for their education are often not provided.

The charitable action and the concert "To Another World Today" are timed to the World Autism Awareness Day.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has been told by Nefiset Tuova, an organizer of the campaign, that the charitable action is carried out not only to raise awareness of the public, but also to raise funds for the functioning of the Centre for training specialists to work with children diagnosed with autism.

"The charitable action in support of children with autism is not spontaneous. We have come a long way. At first, two years ago, the parents of those children created the public organization of the regional public association 'Special Children of Adygea'," explained Nefiset Tuova.

At present, the state in fact does not prepare the necessary quantity of experts to work with autists, and therefore, parents have taken the initiative in their own hands and they arrange training of their children for those means that they themselves will find, the organizer of the charitable action continued.

"The funds raised in the course of the charitable action will be spent to train specialists and create the Inclusion Centre, where children with autism will be able to stay," reported Nefiset Tuova.
