Unorganized tourism mentioned among key problems of "Volga-Akhtuba Floodplain" Park

The main problems of the "Volga-Akhtuba Floodplain" Park include the lack of clearly defined borders of villages, dacha and horticultural societies, the unorganized flow of tourists and the need to develop tourist attraction. This was announced by participants of the roundtable in Volgograd.

On March 16, in Volgograd, the Regional Public Chamber held a roundtable on the topic "On proposals for environmentally sustainable development of the territory of the Volgo-Akhtuba floodplain", the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

According to Alexander Vyazmin, Deputy Chairman of the Regional Public Chamber, the institution receives appeals from summer residents, who are refused in registration of suburban areas, "since land plots in specially protected natural areas are not subject to privatization."

Alexander Vyazmin has described other problems of the floodplain as "unorganized flow of people" and vacationers, who leave their garbage behind them, and the need to protect the floodplain from floods and increase of tourist attraction.

According to Professor Mikhail Guzev, Doctor of Economics, it is necessary to develop the concept of the floodplain use for 10-30 years.

Elena Pravoslavnova, Deputy Chair of the Regional Committee for natural resources, forestry and ecology, has noted that the territory of the floodplain is "huge," and only 24 people are engaged in the management of the "Volga-Akhtuba Floodplain" Park.

Natalia Lopantseva, Director of the State Budgetary Institution "Natural Park 'Volgo-Akhtuba Floodplain'", believes that in the floodplain, "it is better to develop agricultural tourism rather than agriculture."
