Dagestani Premier orders to compensate CTO victims in Derbent
The Prime Minister of Dagestan has ordered to allocate funds to tenants of the apartments, destroyed in May 2016 during a counterterrorist operation (CTO), conducted in Derbent.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 14 in Derbent, in Krepostnaya Street, an apartment was blocked, in which the criminals suspected of killing on May 9 the father of a former Mayor were hiding. After the CTO, two bodies were found in the venue: of one of the alleged militants, and of the head of the city criminal search division. Later, the bodies of two more suspected militants were found. The number of wounded law enforcers reached 17.
During the CTO, tenants of five apartments in the above house in Krepostnaya Street completely or partially lost their property; moreover, the apartments themselves were severely damaged, the republic’s government has reported.
During his working visit to Derbent, Abdusamad Gamidov, the Dagestani Premier, met the tenants of the house. After the meeting, he instructed the Dagestani Ministry of Finance to bring in a draft order of the government on allocation of money from the government's reserve fund to the suffered families, government’s website has reported today.
The amount of compensations is not specified.
