Kaloev is against banning "Aftermath" movie

The fiction film "Aftermath", covering the story of Vitaly Kaloev, may be a speculation on his tragedy, said Chermen Dudaev, the Deputy Minister of Culture of North Ossetia. Kaloev himself noted that "young people could take useful lessons from the movie."

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on February 7, an advertising campaign was launched of the movie "Aftermath", based on the fate of Vitaly Kaloev, a native of North Ossetia, who lost his family in a plane crash over Lake Constance (Bodensee) and was convicted for killing the air traffic controller. The main role was performed by Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The creators of the movie did not coordinate the script with Kaloev, Mr Dudaev has stated.

Now, Kaloev is a pensioner; earlier, he was a deputy minister of construction of North Ossetia. Tengiz Doguzov, a publicist and a writer, is sure that the movie will arouse a lot of interest in Ossetia.

"This is an act of a man, who avenged the death of his family. I think American actors will present, very reliably, the whole drama of this story," the "Echo of the Caucasus" quotes Mr Doguzov as saying.

Let us remind you that on July 1, 2002, two aircrafts collided over Lake Constance in Germany. As a result, 71 people perished; the wife and children of the architect Vitaly Kaloev among them.
