Surkhakhi villager Magomed Aushev spent six days at large

Magomed Aushev, a resident of the Ingush village of Surkhakhi, suspected of involvement in blowing up the car of Ibragim Belkharoev, a religious figure, was released upon the expiry of his detention, but six days later, he was taken into custody again at investigators' request. This was reported by his advocate Batyr Akhilgov.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Magomed Aushev was detained on July 15, 2016, within the inquiry into the car explosion on May 4 near the house of Ibragim Belkharoev. After detention, Magomed was tortured, his mother and sister have stated.

"On January 19, Aushev faced, without any reason, a more serious charge, which allowed investigators to petition, on January 24, his new custody," said Akhilgov, explaining that initially Aushev was accused of blowing up the jeep; now he is charged with a conspiracy with unidentified persons.

Magomed Aushev himself told that on the day of his first detention he was taken out of the house with a bag over his head; and then he was beaten up. According to his story, law enforcers demanded from him to sign a protocol with the names of residents of the republic whim he did not know.

The advocate has added that on the Internet there is a record of an outdoor surveillance camera located at Belkharoev's house and showing an attacker planting an explosive device under the car. According to Akhilgov, the man in the video is very different in complexion from his client.
